My Background
I am an ANCC board-certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP) licensed in Washington. I have a post-masters PMHNP degree from National University. Promoting mental health and well-being is a passion of mine, as I believe that it shapes our ability to lead successful, happy lives. I have worked in a variety of settings, including inpatient and outpatient mental health and emergency psychiatry. I am comfortable working with all age groups, and particularly enjoy the outpatient setting where we often see transformative and meaningful improvements, which is rewarding for everyone! This is my goal when providing mental health care, so each person I work with is very important to me.
Approach
I provide mental health evaluations, medication management, and psychotherapy with an evidence-based practice approach to ensure that my patients receive treatment that is appropriate for their individual needs. The level of response is often different from person to person and it is important for me to understand your situation and preferences, especially early on. A patient-centered approach allows us to optimize our treatment plan, minimize risks, and reach our goals together. I want to connect with my clients and promote open-ended communication. Having conversations about your mental health is important in order to shatter stigmas that may hinder you from obtaining professional care. Creating a non-judgmental environment where you feel comfortable in every step of this journey is very important to me. You will find me receptive to your questions, concerns, and personal preferences. I strive to provide clear and helpful information pertaining to key elements of your treatment so that you are well informed and confident in your progress.
As for my practice style, I have been described as easy to talk with, empathetic, calm, and respectful. As humans, we have so much in common. It’s sad to see how differences can sometimes lead to judgment and divisiveness. At the end of the day, we’re all human and strive to be the best we can be – and feel the best we can be. I look forward to taking part in this journey with you!
